Summer Harvest

My vegetable garden is humming and I'm picking something everyday. Lettuces I never get to photograph as I always whip out and pick one just as I need for a meal. Cucumbers and beans are prolific this year.
If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen I have some new chickens and wait for it ....
a ROOSTER!! We are soo enjoying the blue and green eggs from the new girls

I'm actually looking forward to autumn this year - new for me! I've planted so many pumpkins as last year in the shops they were soo expensive and we do enjoy pumpkins (so do the dogs)

Laura would NOT look at the camera for me - I so wanted to get a good photo of her. And I actually did. These photos just show her personality. Laura is 16 years old today. And Happy Birthday to Charles her litter mate too.

  1. wow! lok at all that good stuff! we just came back from a trip to amish country to buy fresh eggs. it was a beautiful drive through the snowy fields with lots of content cows and horses munching hay. a lot of the farms are dairy farms. my daughter and i were talking about how exciting it will be when the fields start to produce again. i hope you get lots of pumpkins!

    1. If I travelled Amish Country is a place I sure would want to visit. I'm hoping for lots and lots of pumpkins.

    1. I pulled out my raspberries as in wrong place. I miss them. Yes Laura is good - having trouble jumping up and drinking lots of water but still a happy girl. I do miss her sleeping on my bed very much indeed. Minnie sleeps at foot of my bed but doesn't purr and I miss the purr.

  3. How do you keep cats from using your garden area as a litter box? Cats get in my herb garden.

    1. All my cats are in retirement mode - they were my breeding cats and live in a large run. I let them out but they always just want to go back to their run. They are all getting on. But yes straight to the vege patch when out GROSS. Thankfully dogs do not go on my garden.
