Any Day Now

the nerines will be in flower.

Farm Stay Guests...
I was whistling and calling Pinot's name trying to get him to look at the camera, when all he wanted to do was eat his tucker.

  1. I was wondering if you make your own cat mince or do you purchase it? What meat does it contain? I'd like to try feeding this to my cats. Your cats and guest cats look wonderful!

    1. our animals get a variety. Farm Stay Guests eat the same as our cats unless on special diets and then owners bring their own food. Cat nuts I buy premium food (Hills Science diet oral features often). I get my beef mince and horse mince from a local pet supplier. I know where the meat is from and horse is the only meat grain free as often farmers feed out grain to cattle. Cat/dog mince is cooked up using off cuts from lamb from homekill. Slow cooked in crockpot. Trimmings from beef/chicken stock is recycled into either pet mince or the chickens get it. I often put in vegetables into the cooked meat. I have no real recipes, just aim to give variety and good quality. Dogs also like raw carrot, apples and berries. I watch animals elimination and that is a good clue re their health. Constipated guests get more wet food and less dry nut. Typically our pets get 80% wet food, 20% dry food. I am not a fan of dry only food. We must be doing something right as rarely do our pets need vets and live to a good old age.

  2. So, you do not feed raw meat, just cooked?

    1. I feed a variety, raw and cooked. No one day meal is the same here. Seems to work. Always fed our animals like this.
