Mr Perfect

Now how is this for a compliment.... At dog obedience the instructor called Louie Mr. Perfect...
Can't get better than that can it?

The first freesia of the season. The real old fashion type that has such a divine perfume.
I keep saying to myself... next year you will have time to really enjoy the garden,
It's a good feeling to think the naturopathy course will be done and dusted. It's nice to read that the college is looking at the workload for upcoming students and they are going to make changes in 2017 intakes. It's just not me that is finding the workload CRAZY....But I'm learning HEAPS and everything is falling into place. I'm starting to feel like I'm really gonna know something when I graduate.

Farm Stay Guests...
I always feel frustrated when I don't get photos of the guests. The last few evenings I'm out of routine by going out and forget to take the camera with me.

Brent fed and tucked the cats up for me tonight and by the time I instructed him who likes to sleep where and eat what, asking him to take photos too is well a bit much.

Leonardo and Bella have gone home. I dropped Indigo home (we do this if going owners way), it was delightful to watch Indigo come out of her carry cage at her house and throw her tail straight up in the air and walk about meowing checking everything was as it should be.

Beau arrived with a ding under his arm - he has been scrapping again and I wanted Brent to have a look at it. He thinks it is also fine. Beau is happy as and eating well. Sienna made quite the fuss of Brent. So did Minka! Pancho enjoyed his brush, he is really easy to look after. I'm pleased he doesn't mind a brush as I'd hate to send him home with dreadlocks.

I'll do my best to get back in routine and get photos tomorrow for the owners.

Hot Rod Show

Brent's truck on left and our late friend Ned's truck on the right. Brent did a lot of the engineering on Ned's truck, It was a tad emotional knowing Neddy was not with us, but fantastic that his family entered the truck. They had his truck spick and span just as he would have wanted it.

Photo of Brent taking Ned for his last ride in his truck.

 Ned's truck is a 1948 F3
Brent's truck is a 1951 Ford F1
The tow truck is the 1969 F100

Photos from LJD Photographix

My old flatmate next to his car was featured in  Stuff News here is the link.

Brent asked me if I knew what this car was. Like I would know - really?
I was gobsmacked when he told me it was my wedding car...
But its not shiny and has some rust! Not how I remembered it.
Brent reminded me that was 30 years ago this coming October.... so I suppose it can be not as shiny. I'll have to dig out a photo of it to share as my wedding car.

Farm Stay Guests....

None of the cats were awake when I did the morning walk in the paddocks to check on lambs. I suppose they are all on holiday and allowed to sleep in.

Haven't I got a great life!

Hot Rod Show

The boys have been polishing the Pick up Truck getting it all ready for the Hot Rod Show tomorrow.

Here is the flyer if you are in the area,
If you go do say hi!

The very first plum bossom opened today. - It made me rather happy to see it,

Farm Stay Guests...

Pancho and I having a wee play. Indigo is in the run behind having her dinner,

Bet she doesn't lick her lips quite like that at home.

Minka is covered in yellow pine pollen - thankfully it doesn't show up in the photo. Not much you can do about it when the pollen lands on the concrete and Minka rolls and rolls herself in it.

Awwww Bella and Leonardo being best mates.

Wagging School

I've the best friends!
One of them phoned today and said "WANNA WAG?"
Totally!
So off we went for a cuppa.
So nice to get out and away from the school books!

She shared the above video with me and we laughed and laughed so hard our tummies hurt and we had tears falling down our face. We must of looked quite mad!

While we were in Fonterra Kapiti (BEST kept secret on the coast!) I never knew that they had a factory shop that you can walk in and get fantastic priced cheese. Anyway while we were in there a man from Tuatara Brewery was buying cheeses for their cheese and beer sampling boards.
Well us girls just had to play the video to him thinking we had just found a fun addition to their beers. He was ahead of us girls and had already seen the video.
Of course us girls had a stop at the Tuatara Brewery and buy our men folk some beer.
Aren't we good wifes?

Farm Stay Guests....

Pancho comes with coolest gear. A Sleepypod which converts from a carrier to a sleeper and also as a carseat.

Go figure! Bella and Leonardo can choose to sleep inside in the igloo... but they have been camping outside in the log cabin. I put a hottie in both beds so they can choose.

Leonardo being a tad bashful - No I'm not telling the truth.. he is just too fast moving for the camera.

Indigo having a wash after her dinner. I think her family are going to be surprised as she has been on wet food only while staying and tucking into it.... but then she might go home and not eat what is offered. Cats like to do that sometimes.

Phew I just snapped a shot of Minka before she jumped down. Minka is also camping outside in the log cabin and loves being outdoors. It's raining tonight so she will be snuggled up with her blankets and hotties.

Extremely Full Days

Blogging is taking a back bencher at the moment. My days are soo full seeing clients for my naturopath case studies, trying to swot for final theory exam. Do you know how HARD this is when you are a mum? And in your 50's? Gosh to be young and only having to think of yourself and study. It must be wonderful!!!

I would not recommend getting a puppy in the mix on top of everything. My routine has been totally thrown out. But I'm finally getting into a new rhythm and slowly I am beginning to adore Louie.

What do you think is going through Louie's mind in the above photo - while he is caught with my Kathmandu walking shoes in his paws???????????

I am NOT in the dog camp, more a cat person... so I have really really - extremely struggled having a puppy. And having TWO dogs IN the house ... how on earth did I let myself get talked into this situation I do not know.

Louie the puppy has thrown a HUGE curve ball into my life. On top of everything he is an ADHD puppy. So we are having to be vigilant with his diet...

BUT I am loving walking him and training him. I think he is quite smart!.

I wish I could share the video I took of him at puppy school... Oh he was the top of the class at recall. He dragged the instructor so much so that she LET go of the lead. Louie was on such a mission to get to Brent when he was called. PROUD PUPPY PARENTS MOMENT! I won't share on social media as I have not got permission from other people that just so happened to get in the video - such as puppy instructor and other classmates.

We have a goal to have him as a therapy dog where we can take him to hospices and hospitals. A doberman will be the perfect size for people in beds to reach down and pat him. I think that must be the hardest thing ever to not have a pet to cuddle when you are unwell.

Louie is keen to learn and we have taught him not to put his paw up on your lap or arm. He can sit, stay, drop, waits for his food. Waits until you walk through the door, fetch and give back his favourite ball. Will walk off leash and not go far. Currently we are working on walking nicely on the lead nice and close. Lots of little bursts of training during the day which is also great for me to get my butt off the chair from sitting studying! (Sitting is soooo bad for you... right up there with smoking)

I'm still learning Instagram - Abbey tells me off when I put up a blurry photo - which I can't tell it is blurry until I've uploaded it... I took a wee video of Louie and our morning walk and put it on the wrong account.... I've two Instagram accounts- CRAZY! But I figure people interested in cattery and my personal day will not be that interested in Naturopathy and vice versa. Such A LOT to learn!
Anyway you can see the video of Louie here with the fantails dancing around him - rather magical!

I've been learning how to use the Ipad and taken a few video of the Farm Stay guests. I can get them onto Instagram from Ipad but have not worked out how to use Ipad for blogging.

I actually enjoy my time in the cattery - I find it quite meditative. It slows me down as I sit with each cat and have a wee pat. Actual meditation is not for me ... I always fall sound asleep. ZZZZZ.
I was mortified when one friend kindly told me I snuffled during meditation... I have not been back since

Knitting - very basic easy knitting gets me into a meditative state and I find it so soothing. Baby knits are so fun and fast. I'm enjoying knitting a little baby jacket at the moment.

Listening to audiobooks while I weed also relaxes me. I'm enjoying Enchantment The Life of Audrey Hepburn.  I got it out from the Wellington Library so Maree you should get it out too!

Abbey has released another pattern. I'm allowed to tell you about these. But not the really exciting news. I'm bursting to tell you all. It really is super WONDERFUL! That is the perks of being her mum who read her contracts before she signs deals... EXCITING, EXCITING THRILLING stuff folks,

Anyway, until then.... go and have a look at Abbey's new design. Time for Tea socks. It is published on Ravelry where you can purchase her pattern and join in on her knit along. I know the prizes!!!
Which are S U P E R!!!.. but again I'm not allowed to tell....

CLICK here to find out from Abbey all about it and also follow her on Instagram for a discount code for her Time for Tea Socks.
(PPPPST the discount code is TimeforTeaSocks25 to get 25% off her pattern price. Valid until 9th September). You are seriously gonna not want to miss out on the knit along!!

Spring is coming...... Happy happy happy!! The first daffodil opened up in my garden yesterday.

We have lambs too..... I'll try and take a video today of them playing.... super super cute.

And as I have no idea how to get it from Ipad to blog you'll have to see it on Facebook or Instagram sorry..... I'll learn all this techno Social Media stuff once I have finished my naturopath studies....

Joining Ginny and Frontier Dreams.

Spot

One of the rams has a very prominent spot - not that we try to name the sheep... but how can he not be called Spot.... Saying that Abbey has been naming all the sheep and I got shown who was who this morning...
this will not end well...

Oh how I do love snowdrops...

Farm Stay guests...

Minka is enjoying her time outside. The weather is mild and so warm in the sun

Indigo has worked out where I put the plates ready for mealtime.
Talk about make herself at home.

Pancho trying his hardest to give me the "I'm starving look" He was a bit wicked tonight.... only wanted a splash dash evening groom.... he knew it was dinner time.

Puppy, Lambs and Cats...

Louie is nearly 22 weeks old and will start puppy school soon. He got declined for doggie Kindy as he was too big for all the other puppies that were attending. Not the best start to dog training....Too funny aye!

I'm making the most of watching the lambs skip about and frolick in the evenings, it brings me great joy

Farm Stay Guests...
Minka has arrived for her holiday
Indigo is doing grand, taking all her meds and a coded message to her mum and dad - movement is a happening.

Pancho is his happy self. I smile when people come to the cattery - and they automatically say "hello Pancho" everyone loves him.

For Pancho's grandma - the first magnolia flower is nearly out in my garden
