New Computer

I've got my very own laptop wacko so no blog post today as learning how to use it and Windows 8

Our old desk top has been playing up and we brought the new lap top before the old one died so the change over can be done as stress free as possible.

Is it just me - or do you also find it a bit hard getting used to new gadgets?

I'm sure Holly the laptop and I will soon be best friends.

  2. Good luck. We now have 8.1 on our PC. If I can do it , you can. It does all look different and I think they changed things that didn't need changing...but you do get used to it.
If you think that's bad we just got a new car and I have had to be practise backing and parking using the screen on the dashboard. It has so many bells and whistles I might only use half of them. It is so different and has a huge handbook with it.
If I can help with any questions about 8.1 I will but you are probably more up with it all than I am...or your young ones will be. Persevere!

    1. I haven't even got my head around 8.1 yet - still just transferring everything over. Pretty awesome that I can do our budget on laptop and it syncs to the desktop so Brent can see it (I use YNAB)
Your new car sound very fun!

  3. Will be interested to hear what you got and how you like it. I should be getting a new one as my desktop has got so slow and keeps playing up. Also Whangarei is the first city to get fibre and I am due to be hooked up shortly so a new laptop would be great.

It is getting around to it that is the problem and the thought of working it all out.

    1. I've been looking for awhile - a sale came up last week on HP I got it for $711 cash and now price is back to $1395. It has 1Terabite, 800 ram and it has a good graphics card (not that I'm into gaming) and 8.1 windows. I brought one for James too. Oh and if you are with Telecom don't buy virus protection as they have a free macafee for up to 5 computers per house. Whoop whoop.
