Bonfire

A burn up is one of my favourite things

I totally relax and just fire gaze - pure bliss

Once the fire dies down and the embers are hot enough of course we cook up some sausages

"What! Sausages!" Stella seems to say.

Years ago Brent made up a hot plate for the fire and skewers that turn to cook the sausages just right

OOPS Stella forgot her manners!

Stella doesn't take her eye off the sausages cooking.

Nothing like toasting marshmallows over an open fire is there?.

  1. That looks like fun. And now I have a craving for a sausage. :) They are burning in the hills what we call "slash" and it smells so good. Like tons of campfires. Kit

    1. I don;t think I've seen photos of your fire pit? Your home made buns would be perfect with your cookup. Yes Mack and Stella got some sausages smile.

  3. Your fire brings back memories to the food we used to cook over my parents' fire pit. Hot dogs, marshmallows and sometimes potatoes wrapped in foil.

  4. I love the bonfires. We bring our chairs and four wheelers up and the neighbors gather to cook all sort of good stuff . Sometimes my husband makes gumbo but it takes all day between the roux and then all the other goodies in it. I'll say we do our share of marshmallows too but mine are separate. I'm one of those that love the burnt ones! That is a nice skewer system you have.

    1. The bonfire was small compared to normal but we still have firewood to cut up so a fire risk. Autumn is here,
