Welcome February

The vet called in and oh my WHAT a show Molly put on for him, she bounded up the bank something she hasn't done in ages. She sure wasn't having a vet say her time was up! Molly got a clean bill of health but she is now well and truly in her twilight years. The average age is 12- 14 years which she has now passed.

Her hair loss could be possibly hormonal, and to get more meat on her bones he said keep supplementing with good quality nuts.

Our vet is rather fond of Mack and he too put on a big show - sprung up on the gate (something he normally has to take two or three goes at to get up)

He too has surpassed the typical age for a mastiff and is also in his twilight years.

 Gathering....

James got himself a fencing job and with it came free firewood - blue gum which burns soo well. Brent and James spent the day cutting up the tree which fell on the fence. It sure is an awesome view out the kitchen window watching the wood pile grow.

James tried to tell me the ute would look pretty mean lowered.  He was not impressed with my photo taking skills as I cut all the front off the photo

.

Farm Stay Guests.

Ella tucked into her dinner - she likes being in the outdoor run, she only has one more sleep here and then it's time for her own bed.

Beau and Sienna ate very nicely together! Sienna arrived very sore a bully cat in their street gave her quite a bashing needing a trip to the vets. Not fair as Sienna is such a gentle little girl.

I often give thanks that we don't have close neighbours as honest I must sound weird calling out from  kitchen window - saying hello Ella, Beau, Sienna.

The cats often call out too to me - we have some rather big conversations from the kitchen.

zoom in with camera to see Sienna.

LOL got yea - no one is safe if I've a camera in me hand.

First day of February was a stunning summers day

here's some sun for the northern hemisphere folks.

Linking up to Saturdays Critters.

  2. Lovely views! I just love Molly and Mack! I am glad they are doing so well. Our firewood pile has been drastically reduced with this cold weather we were having. I hope February warms up. Thank you for linking up to my Saturday's Critters. Have a happy weekend!

    1. I don;t like the animal getting old either - we really are going to be a geriatric animal place as the cats are getting on too. Still it is awesome that most of our pets get to live a long life with us. James has some outrageous tee shirts I'll try and sneak a few more on the blog.

  6. Your vet has animal magnetism! :-) Thanks for the summer photos. They're gorgeous. I'm looking out my window at about 30cm deep snow (a lot has melted away since our last storm) and 15 more coming on Wednesday. But I love it because everything looks so fresh and clean and bright when the sun reflects off all that white.

  7. Congrats on the job, and great being able to bring home all that free wood. It's so hot here now, another heat wave heading our way, but winter will return and then it will be nice to burn free wood to get warm

    1. James has been a very busy lad! I'm getting ribbing that it is at chore time I miss him. It's just he always usually has been home for chores so that is when I notice he's not here not that I am only missing him cos of chores if you know what I mean.

  13. I do appreciate you sharing that sun! It's hard when the animals get old, but I guess it's a good testament to the care and love they're being given.
