Rainbow slaw

The pickings in the garden are still slim. we sure are looking forward to summer eating.
The summer vegetables are all planted hoping we will have tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, courgettes and sweet corn coming out our ears.

With a red cabbage, herbs and flowers from the garden plus a cucumber and carrot a rainbow slaw was made for dinner.
Flowers picked borage, nasturtium and calendula

Oh blow this photo hasn't turned out very good, I was dishing up and remembered to quickly take the photo. One of the photo tricks I learnt is to put an empty pudding bowl face down in dish and then put in the food you want to photograph which makes a good mound for the food. (Not so good for dishing up - the family thought I'd gone bonkers).

  1. made a bowl of bowl for dinner! the slaw does look good!

  2. We still have some cabbages left but we picked the last of the coliflower yesterday and the broccoli finished a few weeks ago. Still have beets and leeks. Have started the summer planting. Your salad looks yummy

  3. Looks delicious! And that's the way you have to mound up the food for photography, LOL.

  4. That's a great idea....looking good
