Scrap Quilt.

Years ago  I joined in with Crazy Mom Quilts Star quilt along. The single bed quilt top was finished for James' bed. But then there was mutterings of a queen bed in the future for James. With this in the back of my mind I hunted for more of the cream star background fabric, I  was thrilled when I found some.

A queen bed has been ordered for James so now it is full steam ahead adapting this to make it big enough to fit a queen bed.

  • Take off the bottom row, add to the left side (already unpicked green border on left side),
  • Put  green border back on.
  • Make a scrappy border of 9 patches all the way around.
  • Another row of green
  • scrappy blue binding should do it.

I think star patterns in quilts has to be one of my favs...along with 9 patches. But I love scrap quilts!

His new bed arrives 23rd October - I hope I can have it finished by then....GULP.

    1. Yes it was a few years ago so I was thrilled to buy more backing the same. I brought way too much but didn't want to run out. Unpicked the quilt yesterday and cut out some more scrappy blue 2 1/2 inch blocks. Hope to get to machine today, its meant to be wet and windy down here so a good inside job.
