Friday Night Sew in

I joined Wendy at the virtual Friday Night Sew In.

Talk about spoilt - I conned James to cook tea - Chilli Con Carne. Plus he fed all the animals and tucked them up - so I could sew my little heart out. (Haven't I got one amazing teenage boy!)

We ate our dinner on our knees as the dinning room table was turned into a sewing room.

A totally relaxing evening listening to my book on audio while I sewed my little heart out. The Long Hot Summer by Mary Moody. Its an autobiographical of her journey through her 50's. I nearly put the book down as books of affairs don't impress me. However I worked through my judgemental issues and instead listened to her story that she has very bravely shared with the world.

Googling this morning I found photos of the house in France and I totally can understand how she loves this house so much.

  2. A small world - her house in France must be near my brother as I know she meets up with him when over there and he is mentioned in her book of the area.

  3. Good on you Leanne .. its funny cos Chilli Con Carne is what my son loves to cook also. That was so nice of him & doesnt it make such a difference when you dont have to cook dinner.
That book looks intriguing ... I might have to get it from the library. Thanks for sharing :-)

    1. I keep asking James what is he going to cook this week - he is going away over Dec/Jan and will need to be cooking so I'm encouraging him to get some more practice in SMILE.

    1. Hi Rose It took me a bit to stop judging her - would we be best buddies prob not but I sure appreciated a lot of what she did share in the book.. ie loved her part about young people today who are glued to xbox machines instead of getting out and living life. She did grow up in a dysfunctional home and had to grow up pretty fast - so I can sort of understand why she had a mid-life crises..

  6. Looks like a great evening! I see two machines - did Abbey join you as well? James is a wise lad, I guess that by helping so ably, his quilt may be ready a little sooner!

    1. No Abbey hasn't been too good her machine has been sitting on table and she sneaks a few rows in when she can. I'm looking at my dinning room and thinking oh shit I better put it all away my brother is bringing up his new girlfriend to meet us all this morning so I better make a good impression and have a place for her to sit. SMILE.

    1. I think they do the virtual sew in every third Friday. I'm hoping to get back to machine this week as the bed arrives and umm the top isn;t finished let alone quilted... And I got study to do, home school, and jolly weeds are taking over again! I'm trying to con everyone as they walk up the drive way to pluck a few weeds each time they go past.

    1. Hi Tania - now is to choose some wall coverings - shopping is not my favourite thing to do nor is James' he is a character the first wall paper freeze we see - he says that is fine. He did choose grey bed sheets that I never would of picked, but they are growing on me and were only $50 a set.
