28 Years wed.

Our wedding anniversary was earlier in the month but just too much going on with Mack the Mastiff unwell and our daughter not too good that we decided not to go away for a night.
Sunday we made the choice to take some time out for ourselves and celebrate our 28 years of marriage.

Even though on the day we had decided not to celebrate Brent arrived home with a lovely new camellia bush for me.

I felt awful that I had nothing special for him.
Brent said "That's good. better you feeling stink than me" SMILE.
.
Saturday's trip to the garden centre to buy our anniversary gifts - a fig tree and SQUEAL it has a fig!

A peach tree and ooooh look it has one peach on it too.

How else does one celebrate a wedding anniversary other than a bike ride.

We have some lovely tracks to cycle along.

Heady perfume of the cabbage trees.

We let the horses go first.

Silver let us go first as she is terribly nervous of bikes and hides behind her mum

I pithed this mum off -- She was NOT pleased with me snapping a photo

She hopped off her nest

and came a running at us... we outta here.
Brent laughed at me - telling me I thought  his goose Gus was a handful

Brent found us the most amazing picnic spot

A picnic for two
Cheese scones from #afreerangelife @annabellangbein , oranges and water.
and I can even fit a little picnic tablecloth in my bikes basket.

Just sitting together, eating our lunch, doing absolutely nothing, means absolutely everything.

  3. I've always heard that New Zealand was beautiful and had wonderful gardens and your pictures of your anniversary ride certainly prove it. If I ever get a notion to strap myself into an airplane for the 24 or 28 hour trip from the U.S. (not too likely) New Zealand will be where I head.

    1. Hi Vic - I love New Zealand very much and have no desire to travel out of it. I do feel very blessed that we can pop the bikes in the back of the ute and be very quickly on an awesome cycle track. I don;t like flying so I can understand your concerns re coming over for a visit.

    1. It was fun - we enjoyed staying at the light house last year - we might be able to get away later in the year. But we couldn't leave Mack who was not well and Abbey has been in a crash for over 6 weeks.....A bike ride and picnic was lovely

  24. Happy anniversary Leanne. That overstuffed turkey looks pretty menacing. Hole smokes. I've never been beside an ostrich where there hasn't been a fence involved. But I love the malamute photo. I'm completely and hopelessly in love with them. They're the only kind of dogs I've ever had. Hope you're having a wonderful week. :)

    1. Thanks - I think Brent would like a malamute in the future. I'd like another doberman. The fur shedding of the malamute puts me off.
