Welcome Indigo

A big welcome to Indigo today (She is Fred's niece)

Indigo arrived at 4.30pm.  She had an empty tummy, which is best we find as having something to eat here seems to help settle the cats quicker.
To tempt Indi there was a sumptuous smorgasbord of two types of wet meat and  three different types of cat nuts.(Fred is not a fussy eater at all but Indigo can be)

A quilt in Indi's bed with a hottie that will stay nice and warm all night. Fred likes his hottie too.

Indie has one of  her mums paintings so she should feel right at home (Her mum painted this one and gave it to us for our cattery)

Fred had another outside day - He likes to talk to me non stop while I work in the garden. He's my mate and is great company. Today he let me know there were two BIG FAT bunnies he could see in the bottom paddock.....

Quite a bit of noise around our place today. Brent got a new man toy  - a Stihl weed eater.
Our old Stihl weed eater only lasted 24 years of hard use. Its now retired to little clean up jobs around the trees and in areas where the new one is too big to manage. This new beast mows through Kikuyu grass in half the time. (Can you see his supervisors in the tree house - Two little blue girls)

However -  The boys dominated the sound around here today
Guitar on the left is one of the steel guitars James has made.

The weed eater and Gus goose couldn't compete with this sound rig.
Guitar James is holding the steel guitar he has made and will be soon on its way to the USA. for the blog tech at October farm

  1. I can only imagine the noise from the boys!! As the weed-eater would be very loud all on its own. Well done Brent, great choice, and the old one, well done to it as well, no mean feat to last that long. Cheers from Jean

    1. Yes Jean the noise was loud. I tried to get a video of it but the speakers vibrating mucked up the sound on my little camera. James has picked up music for NCEA level 3 so a sound/recording system no doubt is going to be on his NEED list rather than his wish list.

  2. what a lovely life your family leads, having the space (and the good weather!) to be outdoors doing their thing.
I was so sorry to read about your friend in the last post, what a sad time for everyone who knew his lady. He will have such a tough road to walk now, but I'm sure his friends are a great comfort and support.

    1. KAth the blog only shows the days through rose tinted lenses usually. It's great "therapy" as it does make you focus on the good things in life and we do have many. Yes very very gut wrenching sad for the young man,

PS Mack is wanting in and out since 2.30am - he is getting a bit naughty in his old age. But as he is old we oblige....

    1. YES and it is LOUD smile James is holding Bog Tech's guitar in the photo, he just has to get a tap or something so he can put a strap on it that is why he has his knees up to hold up the guitar.
