Susan Branch and a GIVE AWAY

Blog readers who have followed us may remember my squeals of delight last September when I opened up my in box to find this email.

Hi Leanne!  This is Susan Branch, and guess WHAT?  I am so happy to write to tell you that Vanna chose your name -- out of the 1700 or so girlfriends who left me a comment, you are the LUCKY winner!  Makes me so happy to send my Autumn book to New Zealand.  How exciting!  Please write me when you can, I'd like your whole name, so I can write it in your book and please tell me where you would like it sent.

Happy Friday Leanne!! xoxo Susan

And  over on her  blog post she called out MY name!!!!

OH, it’s a NEW ZEALANDER!!  How fun, this is our first person from another country!  Her name is LEANNE!!  And she doesn’t have Autumn yet!  Are you out there Leanne?  If so, look in your email box, you have a message from me!!!

Signed and all - totally awesome and to think my name was pulled out of 1700 comments!

Of course I'm a BIG fan of Susan Branch and just had to get her latest book - A Fine Romance. I'm taking my time enjoying reading it - I don't plan to travel (How can I when I don't like flying, Kiwi birds are flightless by the way) so I'm being an arm chair traveller enjoying Joe and Susan taking me to the English Countryside. OOhh La la ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I've enjoyed following where in the world A Fine Romance is being read on Susan's Blog
As I am from New Zealand and a Kiwi I just knew I had to get a photo of a kiwi reading A Fine Romance.

How fun that the page the Kiwi opened up to just so happened to have Jack and Girl on -
yea all know how much I love cats ♥♥

Many thanks to Nga Manu Nature Reserve for allowing me to share a real kiwi experience with
A Fine Romance.

Nga Manu Nature Reserve is one of ♥♥ my favourite ♥♥  local attractions here on the Kapiti Coast.
They have  kindly donated a Family Pass for a Cottage Tails reader to win.

Leave a comment on what bird you would most like to see at Nga Manu Nature Reserve to go in to the draw to one family pass to Nga Manu..

For an extra chance to win, leave a comment on the Cottage Tails Facebook page.

  3. Leanne, congrats on your new blog! This post is a nice followup to your 'win' last year; LOVE the kiwi! I, too, am following along with Susan and Joe as they tour our country; am hopeful they can schedule a signing in lower Alabama, although they just might be too exhausted before then! I've been reading AFR a little at a time to stretch it out; it really is a delightful book. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Sharon - it is fun being back at Cottage Tails - the name is soo much easier to spell for people than MandaBurms. We had another earthquake last night so I stayed up for ages reading A Fine Romance just past Sissinghurst gardens - their first visit so thrilled to know the book will take me back to see the white gardens.
I don;t think I'll ever get to go over seas as I don;t like flying so loving being taken away in the book.

  7. A very huge bunch of happiness wishes to you and all at Cottage Tails, love the new blog, just a click to all the other pages, totally super, and for a pass to Nga Manu Nature Reserve, my pick would be the Eastern Rosella, then on my blog I could show all those in the Northern Hemisphere just one of our own beautifully coloured feathered friends. I would leave the Kiwi, as it is internationally known I'm sure. A place like this right on our own back door, truly wonderful. Leanne, this new blog has had so much thought, careful planning, and many new photos, totally lovely in every way. Greetings to all, Jean.

    1. Julie shhhhhh don't tell anyone - but as the kiwis are always asleep in the day I asked at Nga Manu if they still had their stuffed Kiwi. I have a photo of James when he was little petting the stuffed kiwi and they still have it. Bruce from Nga Manu kindly played along and brought out the stuffed kiwi for the photo shoot. Plus gave us a free pass for Nga Manu to give away.
