Eleanor Schwinn

weeeeeee my new bike Eleanor Schwinn has arrived.

She arrived on a New Moon.
New Moons are a grand time to begin something new - like an exercise training plan!

Ha! says she who has not really rode a bike since she was 12 years old.

Oh don't you just adore my hand knitted jumper. Our daughter knitted it for herself and was too big - I totally scored well didn't I.

The nutrition unit for my naturopathy course asked me to list 10 things yes 10 things I wanted to change to help support my well being.

One of them was to create a good exercise program. Eleanor Schwinn is going to help me with this!.

Week one is going to look like this...

Day 1 bike 20 mins Starts tomorrow as today was just mucking around - the weather was terribly cold and windy down here - not a good day for a wibbly wobbly gal on her new bike.
Day 2 rest
Day 3 bike 20 mins
Day 4 rest
Day 5 bike 25 mins
Day 6 .rest
Day 7 Bike 20 mins

I'm wanting to do The Otago Rail trail bike ride for my 50th next year what a goal aye..

Of course Eleanor Schwinn is purple, the same metallic purple to go with my Doc Martins.

Let the fun begin.

    1. I felt real sorry for Abbey that the jacket was big - she did check her gauge and followed the pattern - but it ended up fitting me - total great score!
With my basket I can pop in my camera and take some photos of where I bike. We have some beautiful bike tracks here in New Zealand.
Kapiti Island is in the background of this photo.

    2. I'm sure you guys will be great mates. Re the race he he doubt it. Though will be fun having Gabriel on the front and saddle bags on the back. Super eco way to get around town. I got the bike when John was a baby but was too scared to put him on it so will do it with Gabriel. It's a real Dutch mama bike that I bought off a Dutch friend. Thanks for the kick I needed Mx

    3. OHHH The Dutch bikes on the net are drool material. I'm kicking my butt all the way as exercise has never been my favourite thing in the world to do. EVER. One doesn't get much exercises sitting on ones butt sewing and gardening isn't a huge workout.
Looking forward to seeing photos on your blog of you and Gabriel out and about.

  11. I don't think I could live without my bicycle and I haven't seen 50 for a decade and a half. One of our favorite things to do is cycle along the beach and enjoy the beauty of the ever changing ocean.

Good luck in your new regimen.
